Another fine, dry morning. Can’t say the weather has been perfect, but we’ll take “Mostly Cloudy” any day over ” Severe Storm Warning” or even “Occasional Downpours.” And it’s not been too hot and pleasantly warm overnight. Coffee and some breakfast and a quick pack-up and we were ready for the road to Two Rivers.

We again followed trails for much of the way until we got to Oostburg where the trail became a well-marked bike route (well marked except for the closed road detour that cost us two miles). We followed that route to Sheboygan where we made a short stop at the Visitor’s Center. The route took us right through the very vibrant downtown. For a small city of 49 thousand, this place was happening. I didn’t spot one empty storefront in the 3/4 mile that was the downtown.

We stayed on the roads until reaching Manitowoc where we picked up the trail to Two Rivers. It was a short ride on a very busy bike path — lots of folks cycling — something we love to see (even if most of them were e-bikes. ;( ).

Dana had made a reservation at the Seagull Marina and Campground. We scouted the area and found a spot — I started setting up and Dana went to the office to seal the deal. Once we were set up, we both got showers and started into town when we met our camping neighbors, Leslie & Mike. They had a tent big enough to hold a queen size blowup mattress and all the other camping essentials. We chatted for a while and then left to explore Two Rivers. The was some kind of Latino event going on at a public gazebo — either a wedding, or church, or both. Very, very loud music and an almost screaming lead singer or pastor — sounded more like listening to a hispanic soccer game announcer — fast, excited, and again, very loud.

Behind that was a brewery that we checked out, but decided against it not wanting to sit through anymore of the play-by-play. We headed to the Lakeside Inn. We had passed it on the way in and saw that it had a restaurant, too, Water’s Edge. We sat outside watching the lake (and the SS Badger ferry leaving for Ludington, MN), had a nice meal and drinks. We then rode to the Whiskey D’s to catch the last half hour of a live performer. He was pretty good for the 1/2 hour we got to see him.

A quick stop at a grocery for granola and yogurt, followed by a longer stop at McDonalds for 69 cent ice cream cones, free WiFi, charging outlets, and more comfortable seats that our mini picnic table. Dana stayed for a second cone (I had one, too), but left to go to bed. I stayed and worked on the blog until my eyes started closing and I soon followed Dana to bed. Back at camp, I purposely didn’t cover the bikes because the wind was so strong and our covers weren’t quite strong enough. Slight risk of rain that night and I decided to take the chance and went straight to bed.
