NZAU Day 63 – The Flights Home

The Qantas gates opened about 3:30 and we queued for the check-in and baggage drop. There was some issue with our tickets so we had to wait in the line to see a real live clerk vs. the kiosks. To my surprise, it was Tony, the guy who tried to help me out with the bike boxes yesterday. He recognized me before I recognized him and he set about getting our bikes and bags checked and getting us seats. We did get seats across the aisle from each other for the Brisbane to Sydney leg, but despite his best efforts, we’d be separated on the Sydney-LA and LA-BWI legs. Oh, well. It all hearkened back to the trouble with Dana’s ticket/passport before we left. Lesson learned about using a third party booking agent.

NZAU Day 62- Brisbane Day 5

Our last day in Australia! 😢Natalie was off to work again and we were talking about how to spend our last day in the country. I wanted to take the train to town and visit the museum and Dana wanted to ride more. That’s what we did. Dana took her bike to ride the waterfront, and I did the short walks to the train and the Queensland Museum. We were leaving to the airport tonight since our flight is at 5 AM tomorrow.
