Hi and welcome. My name is Paul Rito, and this is the blog of my post-retirement 2022-2023 Cross the USA (twice) bicycle-train trek. UPDATE JUNE 2023 — Well, the touring didn’t stop with that one post-retirement tour, so I’ll keep this going for each subsequent tour.

I’m using the Hemingway WordPress theme because of it’s simplicity, and the fact that one of my favorite bicycle quotes was written by Ernest:

It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of the country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.

If you’re new here and want to start from the beginning, here’s a link to the first post: Retirement, and…. There’s also a search function if you’re looking for a particular entry (like Refugio beach in CA). There is also a sortable and searchable Table of Contents that catalogs all the posts.

Navigating

The easiest way to read the blog is to start at the beginning. At the end of each post, just before the comment section, there will be links to the Previous and Next posts (if any).
