Bobbi had coffee ready for us and sausages and a bagel for me. Dana went for a run and I caught up on my blog, while Mark and Bobbi attended to their daily activities. At noon, we headed out on our bag-free bikes to ride to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (RRHOF), just 4 miles from the house. The only down side was that there was a Cleveland Browns game and the stadium is right next to the RRHOF.

It wasn’t much of a problem. We secured our tickets for 1 PM, the same time the game was to start. Even with the residual traffic heading late to the game, Cleveland is a very bike-friendly city. Our trip to “A Christmas Story” house and the RRHOF yesterday was really easy and we had our routes all scoped out for today. There were some people still filtering into the stadium, but we got to the Hall easily. We parked our bikes in the Hall’s entrance plaza and dove in.

The First exhibit in the hall was a tribute to SNL and its musical guests. Lots of memorabilia and clips from the early days to the 50th Anniversary show. The next section is the history of Rock and Roll and the major artists and towns where the different musical styles originated. We got through most of the other exhibits by 4:45 and made our way out just before closing at 5. If you’re ever in Cleveland, put the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on your “must see” list.

After the RRHOF, we went to the Tower, which was the old train station in Cleveland. Beautiful as most of the turn of the last century stations were, it still has some commuter trains way down in its bowels. Now, though, it’s mostly a shopping mall and offices with a big section converted to a casino.

We walked around for a while and then headed back to the house. Bobbi had texted us that if we didn’t want to go out to eat, we were welcome to their food and kitchen. She was babysitting again, but we said we’d do that if she and Mark would join us. When we got back, fresh green beans and tomatoes from their garden awaited along with arugula, sweet and white potatoes, and salmon fillets all ready to cook. We whipped all that up and Bobbi got back and we had a very nice meal to end our stay. Well, almost the end of our stay, but also almost the end of our trip. We did all go to bed, but Dana and I are leaving on Amtrak at 2 AM Monday to go back home — well, as close to home as we can get on Amtrak, and that’s Altoona. So, we have to get up at midnight, put all the stuff on the bikes and ride back into town. As usual, there will be a full report on that endeavor tomorrow.
