Natalie was off to work early, and we got up, ate breakfast and started scouting for bike boxes. Dana took a little ride around the neighborhood and found a bike shop with one box that looked a little worse for the wear and would take a lot of tape to seal. In the meantime, I went to the airport to see if we could get boxes from Quantas where a very nice Quantas employee, Tony, called around trying to find out if they had any. Nope, so he sent me to Virgin Australia, where I got a similar response. Well, at least I got a little ride in, along with a little bit of rain.

Back at Natalie’s, I called a couple of shops and a Giant store downtown that had plenty of boxes, and it was close to the train station. The rain had stopped and we walked the 800 meters to the Clayfield Station and took the train to the Roma St station, and it was another short 300 meter walk to the Giant store. There we secured two boxes and a good tip on how to carry them from the clerk and off we went to the train and back to Natalie’s. I stowed the boxes in her garage and we relaxed while waiting for Natalie to get home from work.

That evening, we finally got to meet Rebecca, who, as you remember, is the friend of Dana’s friend Lynn in State College who set us up with Natalie. We shared some wine and stories (and condolences to Rebecca on the loss of her father), and took a short walk to the Thai Naramit restaurant where we had a delicious meal and more enchanting conversations with these two lovely women.
