Dana got up early to meet Carrie and Ian got up to make her coffee — his expresso machine requires a PhD in baristaology. I slept in, and later learned that Ian went back to bed, too! From all reports, the group ride was a good time and it got Dana at least part of her exercise fix for the morning.

I don’t remember much about this day, and that’s a good thing. Means I was resting and not riding a 100 km or anything. Dana and I did go back into town on the bike trail and did some shopping for groceries for our ride tomorrow. We also stopped at the Thirsty Crow and listened to the live music that was being played only for us and the staff. No one else in the bar on this Sunday afternoon. We felt bad for the performer, but later learned that he’s a lawyer, and he does bar singing (very well, btw) to get out of his lawyer head and maintain his sanity.

Janet and Ian had dinner ready on our return and we feasted again and continued our conversations about the state of the world — we were quite amazed and pleased that Aussies generally know quite a bit about what’s happening in the US. Ian and Janet sure did. As for the others we talked to, many aren’t fans; a lot of them telling us they were cancelling or postponing any trips to the States until the charged political environment changes. Then it was off to bed for another good rest.
